We know that the preparation of hala was a vital part of every weaver's relationship to weaving. Classes focus on revitalizing the important hala prep process. You will learn the basics of how to take a raw lau and turn it into field kūkaʻa and eventually into a ready to weave kit! The vast majority of lau that are prepped will be used in future community weaving gatherings.
