Nanea Lum, a Native Hawaiian artist and MFA graduate of UH Mānoa based in Honolulu, specializes in painting and contemporary art making, applying methods of place-based learning and Indigenous knowledge. Her practice interrelates kapa making with large-scale paintings, printmaking, drawing, and time-based media. Nanea’s interdisciplinary practice works with community organizations to produce projects and networks that connect Native Hawaiian culture to ‘āina.
In this series of four workshops, you’ll create art with Nanea, using an approach to art making rooted in Native Hawaiian culture.
